@MedicineHatNews Brooks RCMP are investigating a stabbing that occurred Tuesday night, sending one man to hospital in Calgary with severe but non life-threatening injuries. Mounties responded to a call in the south industrial area of the city at about 7:22 p.m. on March 4 and found the man who had been stabbed in the chest. He was transported by paramedics to local hospital and then to Calgary via helicopter ambulance. Initial investigation indicates two people in the altercation are known to each other and no greater public risk exists, stated authorities. The investigation is ongoing. Brooks RCMP reported 491 calls for service during the month of February and issued 185 tickets and 60 warnings for traffic violations. Charges in teen fatal crash A teenager has been charged by Castor RCMP with drunk driving causing a crash that killed two passengers among the seven people who were riding in his truck last fall. RCMP say they responded to the single-vehicle accident at 1 a.m. on Sept. 15 on a township road near the town north of Drumheller. On Tuesday the detachment announced the unnamed youth has been charged with impaired operation of a vehicle, two counts of impaired driving and dangerous driving causing death, among other driving offences. The accused is scheduled to appear in court March 15. 12
