Cypress County is bringing back the Canadian Animal Task Force next month to continue work bringing the feral cat population under control.

The program will run from April 3-6, and target the Hilda and Schuler area of the county, as they have not been visited in previous years of the program.

Animals will be humanely captured, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, treated for parasites and provided with permanent identification, before they are released back into the area. These kinds of programs result in a lower feral cat population over time, as they reduce the number of kittens being born.

The CATF is currently hosting a survey for those who live or work in the area to provide information on where they are seeing feral cats, to help them focus their efforts. The survey is available online at loom.ly/hNPHQOQ.
