asmith@medicinehatnews.com erpretive Program is diving deep into the mysteries of River Ecology with their latest nature walk. “Are you interested in a riverside nature walk? Join an interpreter for an hour-long walk as we will discuss the plants and animals that rely on this area and how they support each other,” said Erika Derman, Park Interpreter. Covering local species such as cottonwood trees, sand and gravel bar formation and birds of prey among others, the walk will discuss the web of relationships that form with the help of the South Saskatchewan river. Those interested will meet at the River access parking lot in Police Point Park at 11 a.m. on March 12, with no registration necessary. Residents are advised that trail conditions may be muddy, so proper footwear is a must. 7
