High water levels caused by the extended warm weather has caused some trouble at various trails throughout the city, resulting in closures.

Saratoga Trail between Carry Drive and Spencer Street is closed, as is the Trans-Canada Highway underpass in Kin Coulee Park. Both of these trails are closed until water levels subside, and the City of Medicine Hat asks residents to obey posted signage in a social media update.

Marlborough Coulee Trail remains open, conversely, though due to melting snow, trail users should exercise caution on this trail and in any other trail in low areas where ice or significant water may be present.

“Soon, our 190-kilometre long Heritage Trail Network will be dry and ready for a beautiful season around the city,” says a release.
