Members of unions throughout Medicine Hat are encouraged to reach out and join the Common Front, with a meeting designed to help harness a collective power. “We’re living in what has been described as a ‘Worker Moment,” said the Common Front on the webpage for the Medicine Hat event. “Alberta workers know their wages aren’t keeping up. They know that their standard of living is slipping. And, increasingly, they’re saying enough is enough.” As more than 250,000 workers are either in negotiations or actively striking, the group says, the opportunity for co-ordinated action to build real worker power in the province has never been greater. The meeting will take place at Medicine Hat Public Library on March 11, starting at 5:30 p.m. Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP as seating is limited, and include a list of dietary restrictions, as dinner will be provided.
