Brooks RCMP seeking debit machine thief

Brooks RCMP are looking for a male suspect who stole a debit machine from the Little Caesars restaurant Friday.

Employees reported the theft to police shortly after 5:40 pm. Feb. 21 after the suspect placed an order and then stole the debit machines and fled when the employee went to the back to prepare the food.

The employee was able to locate the suspect outside but lost sight of the man. The suspect is described as wearing a white hoodie, white pants, white shoes and a black hat.

Surveillance footage showed the male leaving the scene in a white Ford Expedition, which ran a stop sign and had no visible licence plates.

Pair arrested for impaired driving

A man and woman have been arrested for impaired driving after officers observed a vehicle failing to stop at a red light in the early morning hours Sunday.

Shortly after 3:45 a.m. Feb. 23, police conducted a traffic stop and arrested the male driver as well as a female passenger who exited the vehicles and approached the officer despite reported orders to remain inside.

The male was issued a violation notice for failing to stop at a red light and received a Provincial Impaired Driving Sanction. The female passenger was lodged in cells and released once sober.
