The Rise Up Hot Air Balloon Festival announced Monday the sale for balloon rides over the skies of Medicine Hat for the 2025 festival that is planned to run from May 22-25.
According to the event’s social media platforms, hot-air balloon rides will become available for purchase starting in late April to early May.
“Get ready to sore,” reads the Ride Up Hot Air Balloon Festival Facebook page. “(The festival) is bringing back the breathtaking balloon rides you love.”
This year the festival is adding extra flight times and is hosting two Balloon Glow evening events.
The event schedule has also been released, and this year flights are planned from 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. on May 22 and May 23, with a Balloon Glow planned for the Friday evening.
On Saturday, May 24, several events are planned throughout downtown to celebrate the festival’s Community Day, including events at the Medicine Hat Public Library, Esplanade Arts & Heritage Centre and Monarch Theatre.
“We invite all local non-profits and service clubs to join us for a day dedicated to bringing our community together. Showcase your amazing work, connect with fellow organizations and engage with the community throughout exciting events and activities.”
The second Balloon Glow event is planned for the Saturday evening in Kin Coulee Park.
The festival wraps up with an early morning 6 a.m. flight on Sunday, May. 25.
