Women in Business annual Wine and Cheese event offers networking opportunities coupled with spring fashion

In honour of International Women’s Day, the Women in Business Wine and Cheese event is back with a brand-new twist.

“This year we’re doing it a little differently,” says Corry Bohnet, event co-ordinator. “We have six retailers that will be bringing clothes for us to view for the new spring collections.”

Bohnet explained that, initially, they thought of doing a fashion show with the event, but eventually settled on a trunk show, allowing attendees to shop off the rack or place orders for what’s new in the fashion world ahead of the spring season.

The goal of the evening, as always, remains the same however: to invite women to enjoy a night out for themselves, meet other business ladies and generally just celebrate International Women’s Day.

While this is Bohnet’s first time organizing the event herself, she says the reception from the community has already been incredible, and she looks forward to seeing everyone at the new venue they have planned for this year, the RaeCor Professional Building.

There are limited tickets available for the March 7 event, which will run from 5-9 p.m. Bohnet notes that there are only roughly 45 spaces available for attendees, so those interested are encouraged to visit wibmedicinehat.com to purchase their spot soon.

“We hope to see a lot of new ladies down there. And, of course, if anybody wants to get involved with the Women in Business Committee, we will be looking for new members to join in and help plan these events, too,” said Bohnet.
