asmith@medicinehatnews.com The sport & event marketing and management students at Medicine Hat College are working with the Medicine Hat Health Foundation for their second annual PJ’s for a Purpose fundraiser. The concept asks for participating businesses and schools to donate $5 for each participating individual, who will then wear pajamas to work or class on Feb 7. “Our goal is to raise $5,000 to give the kids in need a place where they can enjoy their stay as much as possible,” said second-year SEMM student, Jordan Hieb. “We hope that the local community will support our mission to help bring light and lift the spirits of children at the hospital.” Last year, the initiative raised enough money to buy Medicine Hat Regional Hospital a brand-new state-of-the-art gaming station, and the event carries on the hopes of creating a sports-themed room in the he hospital’s paediatric unit. “Our program feels that this is a great opportunity for us to give back to this community while also getting real-life experience of what we are looking for when it comes to making a career for ourselves,” said second-year SEMM student, Hailey Gray, who was grateful for the experience while also getting to help her community.
