@MedicineHatNews A now-former employee of the City of Lethbridge has been reappointed to the board of the Special Forces Pension Plan that includes Medicine Hat cops and other municipal police officers in the province. That was announced Wednesday among provincial orders in council approvals, and Jason Elliot was reappointed to the board as an “employer nominee.” Elliot recently served as the chair of the board while he served as the corporate and financial services administrator with the City of Lethbridge, though he apparently left that position last summer. The six-person board consists of three members of police associations and three nominated by employers – one each for the cities of Calgary and Edmonton, and one combined for the cities of Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Camrose and the Town of Taber. Other employer nominees reappointed to three-year terms were Denis Jubinville (City of Edmonton) and Monica Storer (City of Calgary). The smaller cities’ employee representative is Medicine Hat Police Association member Kurtis Ladoucheur. Editors note: An earlier version of the story had a misleading headline. Jason Elliot was reappointed to the Special Forces Pension Plan board, not receiving an SFPP pension. 9
