Public school division aware of global data breach

A short news release posted by the Medicine Hat Public School Division Wednesday says the division is aware of a global data breach of PowerSchool Student Information System and is working with PowerSchool to resolve the situation.

“Information will be shared when it becomes available,” states the release.

PowerSchool is a student information cloud system that streamlines information, enrolment, data and programs that helps school divisions manage a database and management into a single program.

The program also allows teachers to gather information from families, store and access digital documents and improve student support through special programs.
