news@medicinehatnews.com Local conifer trees will be the main subject during an upcoming nature walk held by the Medicine Hat Interpretive Program later this month. During the hour-long walk visitors will learn about evergreen trees and how they play a vital role in the local ecosystem as well as their introduction to the prairies. “It will be a lovely winter walk,” states a press release. Some of the country’s most iconic trees will be highlighted, and visitors will learn about conifers’ unique properties versus deciduous trees. The free walk is planned for Jan. 17, 2-3 p.m. at Kin Coulee Park. Registration is not required.
