@MedicineHatNews The major railroad operator in Montana has opened up four more pre-certified logistics parks in 2024, including sites in Spokane and the Port of Everett, Wash. BNSF Railway promotes the industrial parks as economic development efforts along its nationwide Class 1 rail network. It works with local developers to align servicing and access standards in an effort to attract industrial investment. In Spokane, a new 305-acre park is located adjacent to the Spokane International Airport, creating a rail-truck transload centre. The Smith Island Terminal comprises 54-acres in the city of Everett, south of Seattle, and the inland Port of Plymouth (on the Columbia River) involves 1,200 acres south of Kennewick, Wash. in the Tri-Cities area. Another new facility for 2024 in Springfield, Mo., brings the total number of parks to 38 in the United States, while another is located at Northgate, Sask. In Montana, pre-certified sites are located at Shelby, Great Falls, Libby and Poplar. 8
