asmith@medicinehatnews.com The Big Marble Go Centre is celebrating New Year’s a few hours early on Tuesday, with a free facility takeover event. On Dec. 31 from 1-4 p.m, visitors will be able to take part in a variety of activities at no cost, including public skating and ice painting, yard games, floor hockey and the facility’s ever-popular Tot Time, all set up as drop-in activities. A quiet room, as well as a chance to reflect on the year with the community gratitude wall, will also be available. Those interested are encouraged to drop in and grab a New Year’s Bucket List on their way to the fun, for a chance to win a prize, all before joining Big Marble Go to count down to the New Year at 3:45 p.m, to accommodate those with earlier bedtimes. Some events will require tickets, which can be obtained at no cost, such as swimming in the Kinsmen Aquatic Park and several different opportunities to take part in Nerf gun battles. It is encouraged for those looking to swim to book a swim time, in order to guarantee their spot. 6
