Alberta Health Services wishes to extend its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated in this year’s Toys for Tickets Campaign for their part in making the Holiday Season a little more special for children who needed it.
The campaign, which allows for anyone who received an AHS parking ticket at participating AHS parking facilities during the affected period to pay off their ticket via the donation of an appropriate toy, ran this year from Nov. 8 to Dec. 20. This list of facilities did include Medicine Hat Regional Hospital, and residents could drop off their would-be gifts during office hours.
Toys donated hard to be new and in the packaging, as well as of roughly equivalent value to the ticket owed, and of at least $25 value.
This year, more than 1,150 toys were collected across the province at various facilities. They were donated to local foundations and charity organizations, who will be able to best distribute the toys to children within the community.
“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the incredible community that turned parking tickets into moments of compassion,” said Mark Van Damme, AHS manager of parking operations. “Your support has truly brightened the season for both our staff and the young hearts that will now have more toys to play with over the holidays.”
This campaign has been going strong each winter since 2018, said AHS, and they are pleased to see communities help bring joy to families and children.
