@MedicineHatNews To coincide with the annual tradition of the Christmas Bird Count, the Medicine Hat Interpretive Program is hosting a special event focused specifically on the little ones. The Christmas Bird Count for Kids, which will run Jan. 5 from 10-11 a.m. starting out front at the Nature Centre, is a family-friendly nature walk that will help count the local bird population. The event will teach kids how to use binoculars, as well as giving them tips for identifying common birds as they explore Police Point Park. Participants are asked to bring their own binoculars, if possible, and to dress for the weather. All other supplies will be provided. Registration is not required for this free program, but donations are always welcome. For more information, contact MHIP at the Nature Line (403-529-6225), or visit natureline.info. 6
