Traffic lights to be installed on Third Street SE this weekend

This coming weekend, residents are advised that two new traffic lights will be installed downtown.

Two spots along Third Street SE will see construction, at the intersections of Fifth and Sixth avenues, starting Saturday morning. This work is expected to be complete by the evening, but some work maybe required on Sunday morning.

During this installation, a phased approach to lane closures will be taken at these intersections to accommodate required work. The city asks motorists to proceed with caution in the area and obey posted signage.

The traffic lights will replace the temporary three-way stop signage at these two intersections, as part of the 2024 work on the Third Street SE Downtown Utility and Surface Upgrades project.
