MH Interpretive Program hosting Pokemon Go walk just after Christmas

By Medicine Hat News on December 4, 2024.

For nearly a decade, trail enthusiasts have been trying to catch them all with Pokemon Go. For those willing to risk the cold to be the very best, the Medicine Hat Interpretive Program has a returning offering.

“This game encourages players to get out and explore, while discovering new places and meeting new folks along the way,” said Rhys Mah Poy, park interpreter. “What’s really fun is that many of the Pokémon are inspired by real-life animals and plants that we can find right in our own backyards.”

On Dec. 27 from 1-2 p.m, attendees will explore the park as they play and learn more about the real-life plants and animals that resemble some of the creatures they might catch. While this event has no charge, MHIP does ask that attendees call the Nature Line to pre-register.

As the walk will be outside, those participating should dress for the December weather. Downloading the game before the event is also required.
