news@medicinehatnews.com Thursday evening the Medicine Hat Public School division will unveil its new indoor hockey and ringette training space that will be utilized by the Division 76 Hockey and Ringette Academy. The training facility is designed for hockey and ringette players of all skill levels and utilizes specialized equipment and expert guidance to help players enhance their shooting, stick handling and passing skills. The school division’s hockey and ringette academy is aimed for students from Grade 4-9 and was introduced this school year. The program is led by Ken Dzikowski and provides students a blend of on-ice activities while focusing on academic excellence. Students participate in a minimum of 36 on-ice sessions throughout the year as well as attend classroom sessions focused on sport performance, leadership, mental health and developing high sporting intelligence. The new facility is located in the strip mall located at 140 Maple Ave., beside Tim Hortons. The grand opening event will begin at 6 p.m. and offers members of the community a tour of the new facility. 9
