Alberta Grains has announced the result of producer elections for board directors for southern Alberta.

Dean Hubbard of Claresholm, and Dave Bishop of Barrons, will join the 11-person board of directors for Region No. 1.

Tara Sawyer of Acme, Alta. will continue as chair, with Scott Jespersen (Spruce Grove) and Devin Hartzler (Carstairs) as first and second chairs, respectively.

“We have an incredibly passionate group on our board who bring an extensive range of diverse skills and backgrounds, all with the same goal of advancing grain production and awareness in Alberta and across Canada,” Sawyer stated in a release from the group that represents wheat and barley growers in the province.

Delegates for Region No. 1 are Kolton Brown (Nanton) and Sean Stanford (Magrath).

Alberta Grains held its annual general meeting in Banff on the weekend.
