City set to begin weather-dependent nighttime snow removal Monday

asmith@medicinehatnews.com Nighttime snow removal will begin in various parts of the city, as Medicine Hat settles into the reality of winter in Alberta. Starting Monday, removal will begin in areas around the hospital, downtown, Kingsway Avenue, 13th Avenue SE and Division Avenue. The city does add however, that all schedules are weather dependent. A snow removal operation requires the snow to be graded, loaded onto trucks and deposited at one of the designated snow disposal sites. To allow for this process, cars will need to be removed from the streets and no-parking signs will be placed in the appropriate areas to allow crews to remove snow from the city roads safely and effectively.
