The Alberta Health Services Toys for Tickets campaign has returned, allowing those with recent unpaid parking tickets to spread some cheer and settle their fines.

Until Dec. 20, individuals who received a parking ticket at an AHS facility between Nov. 8 and Dec. 20 can take a new toy and their ticket to the local AHS parking office during office hours.

AHS parking staff will mark the ticket as paid, and the toys will be donated to various children’s organizations and local charities throughout Alberta that provide toys for children.

Toys must be new and in their original packaging, appropriate for a child 17 years old or younger and have a value of at least $25.

Recommended items include books, art supplies, science kits, electronics, headphones, Lego sets, baby toys, journals, activity books, crayons, colouring books and gift cards for grocery stores and restaurants.

No toys will be accepted after Dec. 20 and cash donations will not be accepted.

Those in search of more information can call AHS Parking Services at 1-855-535-1100.
