Sask Windfarm up and running SaskPower announced Tuesday that the 200-megawatt Bevekar Wind farm in the province’s southeast is online. That brings renewable power generation capacity under contract to the Crown corporation above 1,000 megawatts. The facility, built by RES, is owned by a partnership of Innagreen Investments and a subsidiary of the Cowesses First Nation. It was awarded a 25-year supply contract as part of SaskPower’s plan to bring 3,500 megawatts of wind or solar generation on to the provincial grid by 2035. “We are committed to achieving a net-zero greenhouse gas emissions power system, and we are on track to do so by 2050 or earlier,” said Rupen Pandya, president of SaskPower, in a release. The wind farm is located north of Moose Mountain Provincial Park, about 200 kilometres southeast of Regina. 11
