Redcliff man killed Monday in multi-vehicle collision on Trans-Canada

A Redcliff man was killed Monday in a 12-vehicle collision on the Trans-Canada west of Gleichen, the RCMP reported late that day.

Westbound lanes of Highway 1 were closed for six hours as RCMP officers from Brooks, Gleichen and Bassano attended the scene near Cluny with heavy tow trucks to remove a number of semi tractor and trailer units that were involved.

The RCMP detachment at Gleichen reported that a 51-year-old male resident of Redcliff was killed when his pickup truck was involved in the crash. He was the lone occupant of the vehicle. No other injuries were reported,

The name of the deceased man was not released.
