Communities group seeks charity nominations for $100,000 GivingTuesday giveaway

In the spirit of GivingTuesday, Western Communities Foundation announced the launch of its largest and latest charitable campaign.

As part of a partnership with CanadaHelps, the foundation wants to hear from people all over the country about their favourite Canadian charity which they would like to see receive one of 10 grants for $10,000.

“With care at the core of everything we do here at Western, we wanted to make a splash in the leadup to GivingTuesday, by letting people from across our country tell us what charity means the most to them,” said Kenny Nicholls, Western Financial Group president and CEO, and Western Communities Foundation chair.

From Nov. 14-27, residents are encouraged to reach out over Facebook and LinkedIn to highlight their favourite charities using the hashtag #100kforGivingTuesday. On Dec. 3, the foundation will host a livestream, revealing which charities will be receiving the funds.
