Several government MLAs in southwest Saskatchewan have been named to the new cabinet following last month’s general election.

Returning Swift Current riding MLA Everett Hindley will become Minister of Education after previously serving as Health Minister during the last term.

Wood River MLA David Marit becomes the Minister of Highways, SaskBuilds and Procurement after previously serving as Minister of Agriculture and the minister responsible for the Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation and the province’s Water Security Agency.

Agriculture will be taken over by MLA Darryl Harrison, while Jeremy Cockrill becomes Minister of Health.

The 16-member cabinet is two positions smaller than the one led by Premier Scott Moe in the previous term.
