Tytan Heisler and Samantha Lentz have each been awarded $1,000 through the county’s scholarship program to help fund post-secondary studies.
The pair of cousins were unanimously chosen by council to receive the scholarships as Hesiler and Lentz continue their education in the southeast region of the province.
Heisler is a current power engineering student at Medicine Hat College and Lentz is taking her bachelor’s of nursing degree at Lethbridge Polytechnic.
“I am beyond grateful to be chosen for the Cypress County scholarship,” said Heisler. “It will help me financially to further my education and be a stepping stone to a successful career.
“Receiving this scholarship has given me the financial support to continue my studies in nursing school and achieve my goals,” said Lentz.
The scholarship program provides financial assistance annually in the amount of $2,000, and all applicants must be residing in Cypress County, attending high school and be registered to commence their first year of studies at a recognized post-secondary institution.
