Registration for Medicine Hat College’s ‘Resiliency in Time of Loss’ workshop, which provides essential tools to navigate trauma associated with death and dying, closes tomorrow at noon.

The all-day session will focus on fostering resilience, self-care and empathetic support for others and will be taught by Dr. Shane Andrus.

“To explore stories around loss, but then to fund our resiliency, this ability to bounce back and ultimately to focus on how as people we find our path forward,” said Andrus in a short video released by the college.

The workshop is aimed for families and health-care professionals, first responders, caregivers and friends and will teach lessons in self-care techniques, modelling coping skills and providing clarity on death and dying-related trauma concepts.

The workshop runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 12 on campus in Room F1007, and costs $185 to participate.

A simple way to register for the workshop is by visiting the Medicine Hat College Facebook page.
