This year’s Fall Into Christmas market is right around the corner, and organizers look forward to offering residents a chance to connect with local artisans just in time for the Holidays. This longstanding tradition has been going strong since 2005, drawing in artists, makers and craftspeople from Canadian coast to coast. This year’s event will showcase 90-plus vendors from as far as Charlottetown, P.E.I. and Vancouver, spread out over 33,000 square feet of the Field house at the Exhibition & Stampede grounds from Friday to Sunday. Doors open Friday at 10 a.m., closing at 9 p.m., Saturday runs 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fall into Christmas offers something for everyone, with arts ranging from ceramics and glass, to leather, jewellery, textiles and paper, among others. Packaged foods, gender-neutral fragrances and other goods such as skincare will also be on offer. “So much joy comes from getting to know the owners, tasting the products and understanding the brand’s persona” said Landon Kronecker, co-owner of Von Slick’s Finishing Butter and a Dragon’s Den alum. “That personal connection you get when you get to meet the person who created it – it’s what brings the product to life. People at these signature shows are always engaged, everyone is there to learn about new things, and the community is kind and willing to help. The atmosphere is just incredible.” This year’s lineup features a mix of rising stars in the handmade world, as well as established artisans with more than one TV nod or award to their name. Tickets for Fall Into Christmas Handmade Market are on sale at Ticketmaster/event/medicine hat, and parking for this year’s event is free. 8
