Coronation medals will be handed out to a dozen local people at MHC on Oct. 17

Medals to commemorate the coronation of King Charles III will be presented to 12 individuals in the Medicine Hat region who have provided significant benefits to their communities.

The medals, commissioned by Canada’s federal government, will be awarded at a ceremony on Oct. 17 at the Eresman Theatre at Medicine Hat College beginning at 7 p.m.

MP Glen Motz (Medicine Hat-Cardston-Warner) will make the presentations.

At a ceremony in Raymond on Sept. 21, medals were awarded to Ron Heggie, Jim Bennett, Sandra Nelson, Zenieth Gaynor, David Degenstein, John Kirby, David Nillson and Randy Taylor.

The list of honourees at the local event was not made available Friday.
