Grasslands Naturalists’ meeting tonight touches on ‘scenic geology,’ honouring late members this week

@MedicineHatNews The Grasslands Naturalists will host a keynote address on “the scenic geology of Alberta” at the group’s general meeting tonight, then plans to honour their late president later in the week. Gerry Elhard died suddenly on Aug. 27 at the age of 71. The longtime volunteer will be the subject along with fellow recently deceased club member Dave McKenzie of a memorial gathering at Police Point Park on Sept. 29 (6 p.m.). Tonight’s regular meeting, 7 p.m. at the Nature Centre, will feature a presentation by geologist Dale Leckie. He will discuss the relationship between geology and wildlife landscapes, distribution and variety, to begin the meeting. 6-5
