@MedicineHatNews Fish and Wildlife officials in Havre, Mont. will beginning issuing special deer tags today in the third year of a program to control urban wildlife in the town of 10,000 people located south of Cypress County. The season begins Saturday and 100 licences are available over the counter to compound bow hunters who must be Montana residents and also check in at the Havre police department before that day’s hunting. Hunters are limited to two tickets each. Any unused licence can also be employed to take an antlerless mule deer in designated open areas and outskirts of the town when previous permission is obtained. The annual special hunt began in the fall of 2022 and this year concludes on Feb. 15, 2025. 6
