Medicine Hat College is hosting a series of one-hour information and application sessions for students interested in studying abroad in South Korea, Japan and India.

Students are invited to register to participate in the next upcoming session being held over the noon hour in Room C225 on Sept. 12, by emailing goabroad@mhc.ab.ca.

The college states on its website that education abroad programs “provide students with opportunities to develop the skills and attitudes required to function successfully in an interconnected global society, world and economy.”

This year there are eight opportunities to study at universities in South Korea, Japan and India. Travel time varies between programs from two and eight weeks.

According to the college’s page some of the benefits to pursuing one’s studies in a foreign land include job building, resume and international networks and becoming a global citizen.

The opportunity also serves as an experience in a different culture and society, and can be a challenge to grow as a person and step outside one’s comfort zone.

Grants may also be available to help with the cost of travel expenses.

Additional information and application sessions are planned on Sept. 26, Oct. 31, Nov. 14 and 21 and Dec. 5.

More information can be found online under the student life tab on the college website.
