@MedicineHatNews Alberta Health Services has issued a warning against swimming, wading or drinking lake water at Kinbrook Island Provincial Park near Brooks. Elevated levels of fecal bacteria were detected by testing at the beach area of the campground in Newell County. The health authority says current levels are high enough to cause gastrointestinal illness, if ingested, or skin, ear and eye infections after coming in contact with the water. AHS reminds all Albertans to never drink or cook with untreated water directly from any lake or reservoir, at any time. Environmental Public Health officers will continue to monitor the water at Kinbrook Island Provincial Park. 7
