As autumn fast approaches, Medicine Hat Musical Theatre has released its lineup of productions for the 2024/2025 season.

Information regarding the season was released on the theatre’s social media on Sunday, revealing posters for this year’s selections.

This year has four different productions on the docket, starting with the long awaited Jersey Boys, which tells the tale of iconic 1960s rock group The Four Seasons.

The biographical musical gets to the heart of the relationships at the centre of the group, with a special focus on frontman Frankie Valli.

Following shortly after is one-woman performance, Shirley Valentine, following the story of a mother of two grown children as she contemplates her life and “tells the wall about her husband, her children, her past and an invitation from a girlfriend to join her on holiday in Greece,” said MHMT.

The hopefully not prophetically titled “The Play That Goes Wrong” will be the first show of 2025.

The Olivier Award-winning comedy is “Part Monty Python, part Sherlock Holmes,” and covers the escapades of Cornley University Drama Society’s during their newest production, The Murder at Haversham Manor.

MHMT will finally bookend their year with “9 to 5 The Musical,” set to hit the stage in April.

With music and lyrics by Dolly Parton, and based on the movie from 1980, 9 to 5 is a “high-energy show, with its jubilant score and easily relatable characters,” said MHMT. It covers the scheme of three female coworkers to give their unsavoury boss the boo, and all that comes after.
