Ground has broken on two duplexes in Swift Current that will be provided to individuals with brain injuries through the National Housing Strategy, the Province of Saskatchewan announced earlier this month.

The four units will be managed by Prairie Pioneers Independent Housing and are funded by a $828,000 grant. Construction is expected to be complete in early 2025.

Battle Creek work

A weir replacement south of the Cypress Hills is advancing among four Water Security Agency projects in southwest Saskatchewan, the agency states.

In total, $2 million will be spent this budget year on design and construction at five sites, including small-scale rehabilitation of Wilson Weir on Battle Creek.

Procurement is moving forward on Val Marie Dam upgrade and spillway replacement.

Planning work is beginning for larger upgrades at Lefleche Dam and Summercove Dam, near Mankota.
