As fire season stretches on, the Community Foundation of Southeastern Alberta has highlighted some of its fellow foundations that are providing vital aid to those affected by the Jasper wildfires.

“In light of the devastating wildfires affecting Jasper and surrounding regions in northern Alberta, several Community Foundations have mobilized to provide essential support and relief efforts. There are many ways the public can contribute through three Alberta Community Foundations,” said CFSEA.

These organizations are working tirelessly to provide aid and support both in immediate response and long-term recovery, said CFSEA, and the community is encouraged to help do their part and reach out to the following dedicated funds and initiatives:

The Rocky Mountain Community Relief Fund, organized by Banff Canmore Foundation, will support response and recovery in Jasper, particularly through partners such as the Jasper Community Team Society.

The Northern Alberta Resiliency Fund, run by Edmonton Community Foundation in collaboration with the Banff Canmore Foundation and the Northwestern Alberta Foundation, will focus on long-term rebuilding and enhancement of social infrastructure. This fund will match all donations up to $100,000.

The Northwestern Alberta Emergency Recovery Fund by the Northwestern Alberta Foundation, strives to restore a sense of community in the aftermath of the fires, and aids in recovery efforts necessary to rebuild community resiliency in partnership with Grande Prairie Regional Emergency Partnership. Monetary contributions are being accepted to address immediate needs efficiently.

More information can be found on each respective foundation’s website, and residents are encouraged to contact the CFSEA directly at 403-527-9038, or by emailing admin@cfsea.ca to learn about more ways to help.
