Friday evening, Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede welcomed their new Stampede Royalty for the coming year.

Charlie Christie and Charlatan Sandford are the 2024 Stampede Queen and Princess, and were crowned in the dirt of the Stampede Grandstand, during the intermission of Friday’s Professional Rodeo competition.

Christie and Sandford are preceded by Queen Emma Atkinson and Princess Caitlyn O’Connor, the previous year’s Rodeo Royalty.

This year saw four contestants run through a series of competitions, testing various skills such as horsemanship, public speaking and modelling. Contestants were also judged on their personalities throughout a series of visits during competition week, which ran from July 10-13.
