Echo Dale boat lake closing for water testing

The boat lake at Echo Dale Regional Park has been temporarily closed.

The City of Medicine Hat announced Wednesday the lake has been closed to accommodate water quality testing and will remain closed until approximately July 31.

The closure will allow city workers to conduct work without interruption or disturbance of testing and assessment protocols.

Park patrons are asked to avoid swimming, fishing and other water activities in the boat lake, as the swim lake will remain open to the public and is unaffected by this water quality testing.

During the closure, the city says officials will be monitoring the water quality in the boat lake to ensure it meets safety standards.
