Select Parks staff will shift to earlier work during extreme heat

Some City of Medicine Hat Parks still will be working different hours due to extreme heat forecasts.

The city announced Friday select Parks department workers and contractors will start work earlier in the morning during days with extreme heat in the near forecast. The city cites the health and safety of the staff for the change.

Those select workers may start as early as 5 a.m. to avoid prolonged heat exposure during peak hours of the day and it may include staff who use equipment such as mowers or other machines that can he heard while in use.

This measure will be in place for the foreseeable future while forecasted temperatures are above 30 C.
