@MedicineHatNews Proposed work at Methanex detailed in articles this week could boost local methanol production by about 10 per cent, rather than 20 per cent, as was incorrectly stated in News coverage. The global petrochemical company is now undertaking advanced engineering and study with Calgary-based Entropy to add equipment to capture a portion of carbon dioxide emissions from the plant in Medicine Hat. Some would be re-introduced into the production process. On an annual basis, that could result in a 160,000-tonne reduction in emissions and a 50,000 tonne increase in production value at the plant which currently produces about 600,000 tonnes per year. 6
