By MEDICINE HAT NEWS on July 9, 2024.

Medicine Hat Emergency Services responded to two collisions on the Trans-Canada Highway this weekend.

Saturday morning at 12:30, MHPS, Medicine Hat Fire and EMS responded to a motor vehicle crash on the Trans-Canada Highway between College Avenue and 13 Avenue SE.

Police say the single vehicle involved had been traveling east bound when the driver lost control and crashed into a jersey barricade. The two occupants were treated by EMS and transferred to Medicine Hat Regional Hospital for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The first collision was Friday morning around 8:03. The Medicine Hat Police Service’s patrol and traffics unit responded, alongside MH Fire and EMS, to a multi-vehicle collision at the intersection of 13 Ave and South Boundary Road SE.

Police say a Ford F150 and Chrysler Sebring collided at the intersection and both drivers were transported to Medicine Hat Regional Hospital via EMS.

They say the 59-year-old male driver of the Ford F150 was treated and released with minor injuries while the 90-year-old female driver of the Chrysler Sebring was flown to Calgary with serious injuries.
