Volunteer crop reporters needed in southwest Saskatchewan communities

Many rural municipalities in southwest Saskatchewan are in need of crop reporters to help keep a full picture of the growing season within the region.

The weekly crop report delivers information on farm conditions throughout Saskatchewan, and is used across that province, and worldwide, by those interested or with stakes in the agricultural industry. This information is collected weekly by more than 200 volunteers throughout the province.

Currently, rural municipalities near the southern Alberta boundary without a crop reporter include Maple Creek No. 111, Big Stick No. 141, Fox Valley No. 171, Deer Forks No. 232, Chesterfield No. 261, Antelope Park No. 322 and Heart’s Hill No. 352. A complete list of Saskatchewan Rural Municipalities lacking a crop reporter can be found at saskatchewan.ca.

Those interested in volunteering are encouraged to call the Agriculture Knowledge Centre at 1-866-457-2377, or email the Crop Report team at cropreport@gov.sk.ca.
