Two people arrested in high-risk vehicle stop

A male and female were taken into custody after police responded to a weapons complaint at a northeast residence that led to a high-risk vehicle stop along Maple Avenue Bridge shortly after 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Police originally received a report that an altercation had occurred at a home in the 400 block of 19th Street NE and some of the people involved had left the area in a vehicle.

Patrol members responded to the area and conducted the high-risk vehicle stop shortly after apprehending two suspects.

Police say there is no ongoing risk to the public as it appears to be a target event.

The investigation continues and more details are expected to be released at a later time.
