Kirsten Spek, owner of Couture Hair and Beauty, was named recipient of the 2024 Women in Business Inspire Award during the 12th annual Inspire Luncheon last Friday.
The award recognized women who have overcome obstacles, inspired others and have made an impact in the business community.
Spek was among six finalists for the award and included Whitney Renney, Annie Anderson, Carla Stern, Manali Shanbhag and Carrah Pinder-Walter.
The winner was chosen from an anonymous community judging panel and it was a close call. All nominees scored less than one point between the top three.
Women in Business is currently accepting online applications from women to join their committee for the 2024-25 year until June 30 at wibmedicinehat.com/committee.
On Oct. 26, Women in Business is planning to host an expo in the Cypress Centre auditorium. More details will be posted on the business group’s social media accounts.
