Nigerian-born local lawyer appointed to Medicine Hat Police Commission

@MedicineHatNews Local immigration and family law attorney Onyinye Chukwunyerenwa has been named to the Medicine Hat Police Commission. The selection was determined and announced at city council’s meeting on Monday. The Nigerian-born Chukwunyerenwa has practised law in Canada since 2020, including pro-bono guidance and legal aid representation, and previously worked with an immigration consultancy service. She is currently listed with the firm King’s Law in Medicine Hat. The addition fills a vacancy created when commission chair Marco Jansen resigned in February. At that time member Sarah Scahill became chair. The next scheduled meeting of the commission is set for June 19. 7-6
