news@medicinehatnews.com South Country Co-op has teamed up with digital design students at Monsignor McCoy High School to develop a summer advertising campaign to promote colour changing drinking/slushy cups that are now on sale. Students were provided a marketing package outlining the goals of the campaign and the top three individuals or teams who presented the most comprehensive and visually appealing ads, were awarded $500. Students created the ads using programs and software learned in class and produced a variety of videos, slideshows and print ads. Students Emma C and Madison M won top prize for their ‘Bring Back the Colour’ that includes a 20-second video advertisement as well as several poster-style ads with bright yellow backgrounds. Juliette C, Mariana GVB and Paula GV placed second and Rowynn B placed third. “All of the submissions were unique, interesting and fun concepts,” Co-op administration says in a press release. “We appreciate the time and effort that went into each project and we commend every student for their hard work.” ‘Bring back the Colour’ posters are now on display at Co-op gas bars throughout the summer promoting a cup that changes colour from blue to purple that can be purchased and refilled for a discount at all gas bars until Labour Day. 9
