Police have charged 32-year-old Brandon Webb with several firearms-related offences after a report of him pointing a handgun or replica handgun at a worker of a downtown business.

Patrol members say they quickly responded and set up a containment area around the business located in the 100 block of First Street SE on Sunday after Webb, who was previously banned from the business, returned to the store and pointed the firearm at the staff member.

Webb was arrested on scene and has been charged with six offences including assault with a weapon, threats to cause death or bodily harm, mischief causing damage under $5,000, disobeying a firearms prohibition order, use of an imitation firearm and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Webb is being held in custody until his pending Provincial Court appearance scheduled June 4.
