RCMP Briefs: Woman dies in Swift Current RCMP custody on the way to hospital

@MedicineHatNews RCMP in Swift Current say a woman who was taken into custody Sunday morning died while being transported to hospital. Mounties there say they attended a wellness check at about 11 .m. on May 5 on South Service Road, and located a woman who they say required medical care. While in transport by EMS to hospital, the woman went into medical distress and was later pronounced deceased at hospital, according to a release. The case will be forwarded to the Saskatchewan Serious Incident Response Team, as is standard in cases of in-custody death. Bassano car theft Mounties in Bassano are searching for a 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander they believe was stolen during overnight hours between May 4 and 5. The black, SUV-style vehicle has a dent on the tailgate and Alberta licence plate CHV-6447. Anyone spotting the vehicle should not approach it or its occupants, but call the Brooks RCMP detachment at 403-362-5535. 10-9
