Early reports from Cypress County officials indicate a cattle liner with up to 100 livestock rolled over on Range Road 52 and Township Road 120 Friday morning.
Officials say at least one handful of cattle had to be put down at the scene of the accident at the time of publication, however they expect to receive more details soon.
RCMP say they were called to scene of a single-vehicle rollover along Range Road 52 after 7 a.m. and remained at the scene for several hours as crews worked to clear the highway.
On Friday afternoon Cypress County officials said the highway reopened following a seven-hour closure, however deceased cattle still remained in the area and they advised motorists to drive safely.
At the time of publication Redcliff RCMP had not released further details on the incident.
